FLINT, MI – A forum featuring eight current historically Black college and university students and eight alumni will be held in Flint this weekend to encourage high school students to attend those institutions of higher learning after they graduate.
The free event called “Flint to HBCU Forum: Unwrapped!” will take place from 3-7 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Flint, located at 3701 N. Averill Ave. on the city’s east side.
With a goal to educate and encourage young people to attend HBCUs, panelists at the event will discuss their lives at HBCUs, post-graduation experiences, debunk myths about the colleges and highlight the significance of HBCUs.
The event will be hosted by Hampton University student Hailee Clack and Howard University student Lyric Amodia, who also organized the event. Clack organized a similar event in December 2022.
